Evangelia Kavakli is an Information Systems Professor at the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean. She has been a faculty member of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean, since 2002. She holds a PhD in Computation from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK. She is in charge of the Cultural Informatics Laboratory of the University of the Aegean.
Her research work supported in the context of national and EU funded projects, focuses on the topics of Capability Oriented Requirements Engineering, Enterprise Modelling, Information Systems Privacy and Cultural Informatics. She is the co-editor of the book: Aspects of representation – Studies on art and technology. She has published over 60 papers in international conference proceedings, edited books and academic journals, including the Requirements Engineering Journal, Information Systems Journal, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics and Springer Lecture Notes on Computer Science.
Her current research focuses on the design of Cyber Physical Social Systems. She has been actively involved in numerous international conferences in the area of Information Systems, including the International Conference on the Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS) and the IFIP WG 8.1 Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling (PoEM).
