    George Strogylopoulos is a chemical engineer (University of Patras) with a postgraduate degree in technology and innovation policy from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
    In Luxembourg, he worked as a Specialist in Innovation and Technology Transfer Policy for the "Innovation Program" of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Business for the period 1994-1999. He organized the European Innovation Policy Network, the Trend Chart on Innovation in Europe & the Innovation Scoreboard. He has been an advisor to regional authorities and national governments. He has collaborated with most research and technological bodies in Greece on issues of development policies and exploitation of research results. He has also been involved in innovation policy and technology transfer studies and analyses in many Member States or regions (e.g., Greece, Spain, Luxembourg, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bosnia, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia). He has been the Project Manager (and main author) of the. studies for the development of the National Smart Specialization Strategy of Greece (2014-2020 & 2021-27) as well as the Project Manager of the Smart Specialization Strategies (2014-2020) of the Regions of Attica, Central Greece, Epirus, Epirus South Aegean & of North Aegean and Epirus for the period 2021-27. He worked as a technology transfer officer at the National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) Demokritos (the largest Greek research center) and responsible for innovation policy and internationalisation issues for the Center. He was main contributor to the creation and development of ‘Demokritos’ Innovation Office. He coordinated and managed the development of the Innovation Office of the North Aegean Region and was an advisor to the University of the Aegean on technology transfer and ideas rating. He is the author of the background report for the assessment of the Greek National research infrastructures (2022) and of the report for monitoring SDGs in North Aegean Region (JRC Seville).
    He is currently the ERUA Local Coordinator (LC) at the University of the Aegean. He has over 300 lectures and presentations in workshops and conferences and has organised more than 100 events.
