Crooked Carrot

Social Challenge Addressed

Shortening supply chains and preventing the waste of visually imperfect agricultural produce. Hundreds of tons of fruits and vegetables are discarded or left in fields by farmers due to supermarkets' strict cosmetic standards, while urban food prices continue to rise.

Description of the Solution / Business Idea

A logistics hub and subscription platform purchasing wholesome yet cosmetically imperfect produce from small farms at a fair price. The enterprise packs them into weekly veggie boxes delivered via a subscription model to consumers and local restaurants, while 10% of surplus food is donated to food-sharing points and shelters.
