ERUA Summit "Navigating the Edges"
Hosted by the University of the Aegean • November 4-7, 2025
November 4-7, 2025 – University of the Aegean, Lesvos, Greece
Hosted by the University of the Aegean, the 5th Annual ERUA Summit transforms the island of Lesvos into a European spotlight of university reform, bringing together students, academics, and local stakeholders to reshape the future of European education—from the edge of Europe!
The Summit title is more than a poetic reference to Lesvos’ literary legacy (Daphnis & Chloe); it reflects ERUA’s position at the margins—and its drive to transform those margins into frontiers of innovation, inclusion, and reform.

On an island at the edge of Europe, we gather to imagine the university of tomorrow. From different cities, languages, and disciplines, we meet not to stay within boundaries, but to cross them. We bridge divides: between teachers and students, arts and sciences, universities and communities, reflection and action.
Students are not guests. They are co-creators, presenters, rapporteurs, and changemakers. This Summit is a midpoint, a breath before the next phase. To move the edges is to choose transformation over repetition, co-creation over convention, and the future over the familiar.
It reflects both a vision and a strategy: to replace traditional boundaries with shared spaces of creation and reform. Students are at the centre: initiators, partners, agents of change.
It is a call to action that challenges all participants, students, academics, policymakers, local actors, to:
